Welcome to the Official Site of the Valparaiso Fire Department. We are always working to offer the best service to the residents of Valparaiso and the surrounding communities. As expressed in our mission statement:

The Valparaiso Fire Department serves over 35,000 residents in a 25+ square-mile area that includes the City of Valparaiso as well as Center Township and surrounding communities. With 50 full-time firefighters providing fire, medical and rescue services, the department operates two (2) fire stations and staffs two (2) engine squads, four (4) engines, one (1) tower, one (1) tanker, and one (1) command unit.

In addition to responding to approximately 2,000 emergency calls annually, the Valparaiso Fire Department provides proactive prevention services such as fire safety inspections of commercial properties, site plan reviews, and fire safety education. The Fire Departmetn community projects include: fire safety education, fire station tours, the Edith House Fire Safety Program, Rebuilding Together * Valparaiso, and many others.
