Fire Department > Employment > Applications

Applications for employment are available one (1) time per year. Local newspapers (the Vidette-Times and the Post Tribune) advertise the dates and locations where those interested can obtain an application.

The Valparaiso Fire Department has four (4) steps to the process of becoming a firefighter. After completing the application, the applicant will be given 1) a swim test; 2) an agility test; 3) a written test; and 4) an oral interview. The applicant must past all four (4) steps before being accepted.

1) Application forms are now available for download from our website.

2) All paper work must be completed, signed and returned to Valparaiso Fire Department 2605 Cumberland Dr. , Indiana, 46383, no later than June 12, 2008.
